Old Faithful Snow Lodge
Ice Hotel | Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States | Checked August 2026
The lodge stands beside the Old Faithful geyser basin in Yellowstone National Park and opens for a winter season as well as a summer one. In winter the park road to it is not cleared for ordinary cars, so guests arrive by snowcoach or by snowmobile. The building holds guest rooms, a dining room and a lounge, with cabins alongside.
The lodge sits within the geyser basin, and boardwalks lead from it across the thermal ground. Cabins stand close to the main building. Beyond the basin the park lies under deep snow through the winter months, and the nearest cleared road runs well outside it.
Ask aheadAsk how the winter transport is booked, because the snowcoach seat is arranged separately from the room. Write about dining room hours in the winter season, about what clothing the staff recommend for the crossing, and about the dates on which the lodge opens and closes.
